Hunters First Servicing

Not even 2 weeks since I took the delivery of Smurf.. Hunter350 and already have clocked 500kms. 

First servicing was due. Service center is bavdhan is still on the same road, of suryadatta institute .. just that it is moved few meters ahead in a bigger space. 

I reached early to avoid the rush. First thing caught my eye is the bullet loaded with panniers.

The stickers read service on wheels. Probaby used to provide the doorstep service solutions.

A technician attended in few minutes. I had no issues with the bike other than the engine heating and mileage. After around 70kms, engine starts heating and you can feel the hot fumes on your thighs.

I was told, it’s a common problem with most of the bikes, especially the once having air-cooled engine and within 2-3 servicing it gets rectified.

I reached the service station in the evening to pickup the bike. Sadly, like I had previous experience with my Thunderbird as well back in 2014, bike was not washed. When I reached there, they took the bike for washing and polishing.

While the cleanup was happening, I asked for the chain lubricant, which I was told that I will get it at the time of servicing. The consultant refused, said we don't give it. But I told him I was told to get it. After a peaceful discussion, he said the godown is closed on Sundays and that I should come on weekdays to collect it.

Thankfully, the person who cleaned the bike had more brains. He said, why are you asking to come back again just for the chain lube, later give it from your stock, and next day you get it from the godown. He agreed and handed over the spray to me.

With a racing heart I finally took the delivery. Racing? Yes, I never had a good experience with servicing of vehicles. I am not saying Royale Enfield as such.. but in general.. be it my cycles, Car, Scooty or anything. Generally they always mess up something which was working just fine.

Anyways, the time will tell. For now so happy that first servicing is done, and no limit on speeds and I can literally start planning now for outstation rides.
